Complaints Policy
Charles Lyndon is committed to high quality legal advice and client care. However, if at any point you become unhappy or concerned about the service we have provided, or a bill you have received from us, please contact info@charleslyndon.com or write to us at Charles Lyndon, 110 Cannon Street, London EC4N 6EU. We have a procedure in place which details how we handle complaints which is available upon request. Making a complaint will not affect how we handle your case.
We have eight weeks to consider your complaint. If we have not resolved it within this time or you are not satisfied with the handing of your complaint, you may complain to the Legal Ombudsman. Before accepting a complaint for investigation, the Legal Ombudsman will check that you have tried to resolve your complaint with us first. Contact details for the Legal Ombudsman and details of the time limits for making a complaint can be found at http://www.legalombudsman.org.uk.
Ordinarily, you will need to bring a complaint to the Legal Ombudsman within six months of receiving a final written response from us about your complaint or within one year of the act or omission about which you are complaining occurring (or if outside of this period, within one year of when you should reasonably have been aware of it).
If you are unhappy with any bill, you may also be entitled to request an assessment from the courts under part III of the Solicitors Act 1974. In these circumstances we are entitled to charge interest for any sums that are or remain unpaid. There are strict time limits for this process, and you may wish to seek independent legal advice.
The Solicitors Regulation Authority can help if you are concerned about our behaviour. This could be for things like dishonesty, taking or losing your money or treating you unfairly because of your age, a disability or other characteristic.
